Sleeves

Innovac’s insulating and exothermic sleeves are designed to improve metal feeding efficiency in sand and investment castings. These sleeves delay solidification in critical riser zones, allowing more molten metal to feed into the mold cavity and minimizing shrinkage defects. Foundries rely on Innovac sleeves to improve yield, reduce scrap, and maintain dimensional accuracy in both ferrous and non-ferrous casting operations.

Made from advanced insulating ceramic fiber compounds, our sleeves exhibit high heat retention and structural strength during pour. They are available in both open and blind riser formats, with customizable inner diameters and sleeve heights to suit your specific gating system or casting design. Their low thermal conductivity ensures directional solidification, which is critical to producing structurally sound castings without voids or internal defects.

We offer both standard insulating sleeves and exothermic sleeves with ignition coatings that actively release heat, extending feeding time and improving volumetric efficiency. This makes them ideal for heavier section castings or highly alloyed metals such as ductile iron, steel, or aluminum-bronze.

Innovac sleeves are compatible with automated molding lines and manual setups. Their precision-molded geometry ensures proper alignment and easy handling, with minimal dust generation during placement. Custom shapes such as neck-down sleeves, oval sleeves, or breaker cores are also available for complex or high-performance castings.

Our technical team supports you with feeder simulation assistance, sleeve selection charts, and trial implementation programs to optimize your casting process from the start. All sleeves are batch-tested for dimensional accuracy, insulation index, and ignition delay (for exothermic variants).
