Tap Out Cones

Innovac’s Tap Out Cones are engineered to deliver consistent and controlled metal flow during furnace tapping operations. These refractory components are critical in managing molten metal transfer, ensuring that flow is directed, stable, and resistant to slag buildup or erosion. The unique formulations we use enable our cones to maintain structural integrity even during repeated thermal shock cycles.

Our cones are made from high-alumina and fused silica blends, giving them both high melting points and resistance to mechanical stress. This means fewer replacements, less downtime, and safer tapping processes. In high-throughput foundries or steelworks, any interruption in tapping due to failure can result in costly delays — our cones are designed specifically to minimize such risk.

We offer cones in a range of standard and customized tap bore diameters, based on the metal type, furnace configuration, and tapping mechanism. If you're working with specialty alloys or non-ferrous metals, we can adjust the material chemistry and density to ensure compatibility with your system and pouring temperatures.

Installation is made easy with precision-molded geometries and uniform densities, providing a snug fit and reliable seal in your tapping assembly. Innovac’s tap out cones are also available with chamfered or flanged bases, depending on your ladle design.

Finally, every batch undergoes strict quality checks for density, porosity, and strength. We also provide optional lab testing certificates for clients who require documentation for safety audits or performance validation.
